What is TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)?

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a nonprofit, noncommercial, peer-led weight loss support program founded in 1948. Unlike traditional diet programs, TOPS focuses on healthy lifestyle changes, accountability, and ongoing support rather than prescribing a specific diet plan.

Participants benefit from a structured, supportive environment designed to help them achieve sustainable weight management and long-term wellness.

What Happens at TOPS Meetings?

TOPS meetings are held weekly and provide a supportive, judgment-free space for participants to stay accountable and motivated.

Each session includes:

  • Private weigh-ins to track progress
  • Educational presentations from health and wellness experts
  • Opportunities to share successes and challenges
  • Group discussions focused on overcoming obstacles and building healthy habits

Program Cost

Annual membership fee: $70

Includes:

  • Bi-monthly TOPS magazine
  • Access to online resources and educational materials
  • Reduced fees are available for renewal years

Location: North Canyon Sawtooth Room
Start Date: Monday, April 27, 2026
Meeting Day: Every Monday
Schedule:

  • Private Weigh-ins: 5:30 PM
  • Meeting Time: 5:45 PM - 6:30 PM

Who Can Join?

  • Open to anyone in the community
  • No physician referral required
  • Recommended for individuals 18 years and older
  • Participants are encouraged to consult their healthcare provider before starting any new diet or exercise program
