A Variety of Rehabilitation Services
Different medical conditions require different kinds of therapeutic interventions. This is why we offer many options for therapy within three specific areas of expertise - physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Together with you and your physician, the North Canyon Rehabilitation services team will determine how to best navigate your road to recovery.
Physical Therapy (PT)
Physical Therapy (also known as PT) is a therapeutic medical service that increases physical independence in patients experiencing pain or limited mobility. The primary focus of PT is to improve a patient’s quality of life by improving strength, flexibility, joint mobility, balance, and muscle control, all while reducing pain. PT benefits individuals who are recovering from injury or surgery, as well as those struggling with long-standing limitations and difficulties.
Our therapists are friendly and dedicated to creating a positive and enjoyable treatment experience. We feature private rooms, one-on-one care, and a well-equipped gym with the necessary equipment to assist in your recovery.
State-Of-The-Art-Treatment With LiteGait
North Canyon Rehabilitation Services provides a unique system for assisted gait training. The LiteGait is a specialized device that offers additional support for individuals working on regaining walking ability, improving posture control, or increasing independence in desired activities. The LiteGait supports your body weight, so you can focus on improving your ability to avoid falls, learn to walk with proper posture, or begin gait training earlier in your rehabilitation after an injury. The LiteGait is also great for therapy with weight-bearing restrictions. Come see us at North Canyon to learn if the LiteGait can help in your recovery.
Occupational Therapy (OT)
Meet the Providers
Occupational Therapy or OT, is a mode of therapy that focuses on helping people achieve independence and satisfaction in their daily lives. When a person has suffered an injury or illness, simple activities of daily living, such as bathing, getting dressed, or preparing a meal, can become challenging.
Occupational Therapy benefits people of all ages, from childhood to aging adulthood. Our occupational therapists work with families and children to achieve their greatest functional independence with age-appropriate activities of daily living and adaptive behaviors.
For adult patients who have lost functional strength or some range of motion in everyday activities, Occupational Therapists can help them gain back that independence. Activity adaptations and modifications may be implemented along with assistive devices, adaptive equipment, training, and education.
Speech Therapy (ST) is a medical specialty that includes the evaluation and treatment of a variety of speech, language, and swallowing disorders from birth to the end of life. At North Canyon, our Speech Therapists (also known as Speech Language Pathologists) work closely with pediatric and adult patients, helping them overcome a wide variety of communication and swallowing disorders. These include, but are not limited to:
- Auditory Processing Disorders
- Dysphagia (swallowing)
